The Dickies have steadily been putting out fun punk albums for the past fifteen years. Now with the multi-platinum Green Day ripping off their schtick, it would seem that the time is right for a Dickies breakthrough. Unfortunately, Idjit Savant isn't gonna be the album to do it for them. Somehow, their sound has taken on an unmistakable early Cheap Trick flair. And lyrically, the songs are half-assed at best. The album isn't a complete flop, though, as there are still a few good laughs here like on "Make It So," an ode to "Star Trek:The Next Generation."
