Lamprey is one of those troublesome second albums; it's hardly going to ruin
these critics' darlings of a year or two ago, but it really does nothing to
enhance their reputation either. Too many songs sound like re-runs of Palomine.
Carol Van Dijk still sings some catchy vocal parts, and though you're never quite
sure what she's singing, you'll find yourself making up words to sing along. All
in all, though, the band comes up with a draw on this one.
