Soul Coughing are the 90's embodiment of 50's cool. They play jazzy back street licks with a stand up bass, funky guitar, and stripped down percussion. They sample everything from Howlin' Wolf to Loony Tunes and their singer plays with his lyrics, displaying all the clever skills of a beat poet and a jazz singer.
