A MELVIN READER POLL

Although everyone would like to believe that substance always triumphs over style when it comes to career success, a quick stroll through the offices of nearly any large corporation indicates differently. We asked 421 college-educated MELVIN readers which was more important to job success, brains or beauty, and compared this with their actual career performances to date.

Which is more important, brains or beauty?
(If you had graphics capability, you would see a pie chart indicating 83% brains, 17% beauty. But you don't, so you don't.)

Average yearly income (excluding students):
Respondents stating that brains are more important than beauty:
$19,800
Respondents claiming genius level or higher IQ:
$22,200
Respondents rating their physical attractiveness as 7 or higher on a scale of 1-10:
$26,700
Respondents stating that beauty is more important than brains:
$27, 200

Then again...

Average GPA of students claiming genius level or higher IQ:
B-
Average GPA of students claiming above average or lower IQ:
A-

Each issue, one randomly selected Reader Poll participant will receive a free MELVIN t-shirt and a sack full of gratitude. To register for the prize, see if you can finagle your way onto a browser that supports forms... then you can both participate in the Readers Poll AND register for the t-shirt!
